Where is it?

Choose the word that says where something is.

Some small words do one job: they tell you where a thing is. In, on, under, behind, next to and between are six of them.

The three easiest

In means inside something. On means touching the top of it. Under means below it.

Three more

Behind means at the back of it. Next to means beside it. Between means in the middle of two things.

Worked example

  1. Ask where a thing would be if nobody can see it.

    The rest of the sentence is the clue. Hidden things are not on top.
