Division with remainders
Divide by a single digit, and say what is left over when it does not go exactly.
Before you start
Twenty-four ones in a row. Count along it in fives and see where you come to a stop.
Four fives reach 20 and there is not enough left for a fifth. The 4 still sitting there is the remainder, and it is always smaller than the number you were counting in.

Adding and subtracting decimals
Add and subtract numbers with tenths and hundredths by keeping the columns lined up.
Before you start
This line runs from 0 to 1. The numbered ticks are tenths, and the plain ticks between them fall halfway again. Look at how far apart 0.05 and 0.5 really are.
Ten hundredths make one tenth. That is why 0.5 is far bigger than 0.05, even though both are written with a 5.

Name the centre, radius and diameter of a circle, and use the fact that the diameter is twice the radius.
