Physical and chemical changes
Decide whether a change has made a new substance or merely rearranged an old one, say what combustion needs, and name the slow changes that turn rock into soil.
Before you start
Look closely at a burning candle. Two different kinds of change are going on at once.

A train leaves station A and reaches station D. Its position along the straight track is marked out below.
Read the marks as the position of a train at equal intervals of time. When each gap between successive positions matches the one before, the speed is not changing and the motion is uniform. When the gaps grow or shrink, the speed is changing and the motion is non-uniform.

Take apart an incandescent torch lamp and look at what makes the light.

The filament is the thin wire that gets hot and glows. The metal case and the metal tip are the lamp's two terminals, kept apart so they cannot touch. An LED lamp has no filament inside it — it makes light a different way.
