Naming words

Find the word that names a person, an animal, a place or a thing.

Some words name things. We call them naming words.

A naming word names

A person: nurse. An animal: horse. A place: garden. A thing: lamp.

Worked example

Look at this sentence: The boy holds a kite.

  1. "boy" is a naming word.

    It names a person.
