Counting in 2s, 5s and 10s

Count forwards in twos, fives and tens, and say which numbers you land on.

Counting one at a time is slow. Jumping in twos, fives or tens gets you there much faster.

Worked example

Count in 5s up to 25.

  1. Start at 5, then jump 5 more: 10.

    Each jump is the same size.

Try it together

Now count in 10s together.

    1.Start at 10 and jump 10 more. Where do you land?

    Remember

    Counting in 5s lands on numbers ending in 5 or 0. Counting in 10s lands only on numbers ending in 0.
