Verbs that add -ed
Make the past tense of a regular verb and spell the ending correctly.
Most verbs make the past tense the same easy way: they add -ed on the end. Walk becomes walked, and cook becomes cooked.
Already ends in e
Add only a d. Like becomes liked. Bake becomes baked.
Ends in a consonant and y
The y turns into ie, then add d. Copy becomes copied. Cry becomes cried.
One short vowel and one last letter
Double that last letter first. Pat becomes patted. Grab becomes grabbed.
