Action words

Find the word that tells you what someone is doing.

Some words tell us what someone is doing. We call them action words.

Action words

Paint, laugh, climb, dance, throw. You can do all of them.

Worked example

Look at this sentence: The girl paints a picture.

  1. "paints" is the action word.

    It is what the girl does.
