First describing words

Find the word that tells you more about a person, an animal or a thing.

Some words tell us more about a naming word. We call them describing words.

Describing words

A wet coat. A long rope. A round stone. Wet, long and round are describing words.

Worked example

Look at this sentence: She found a shiny coin.

  1. "coin" is the naming word.

    It names the thing.
